KATHMANDU, JAN 19 - Much like the student organisations and their leaders, members of civil society, too, have realised that with the constitutional process still in stalemate and showing no signs of improvement, the nation was hurtling towards a republican democracy. Yet another view which has come from them is given the diffidence and dilemma demonstrated by the political parties on the possible remedy to the current imbroglio, the only thing which they could do was follow the student outfits. "Given the stridency coming from the younger generation of leaders, it appears that they could lead the nation much better than elder cousins," said Prof Surya Lal Amatya, while speaking at the Foundation for Parliamentary Studies and Development (FPSD) on Sunday. He reinforced this view saying that the nation could expect a lot from leaders who are leading the movement and are in their 30s and 40s.
